Great John Street Hotel Wedding Photography
Natalie and Mani
Great John Street Hotel was converted from an old school house which has been redesigned to perfection by eclectic hotels. I was super excited when Natalie and Mani asked me to be their great John street wedding photographer. To top it off, the actual wedding ceremony took place in Manchester Town Hall, which is one of my favourite places to photograph.
Together the venues combined traditional elegance and modern beauty, and suited our bride and groom perfectly. The groom, his best man and his ushers all dressed in a handsome navy blue Next suits. Mani waited nervously with Craig, his best man and the guests were more than happy to alleviate any nerves he had.
Natalie, her bridesmaids and maid of honour, Rachel, had their hair dressed by Elise from Emma Taylor Hair Design, Bury. Their makeup was applied carefully by Absolutely Flawless. Natalie looked absolutely stunning in her Justin Alexander wedding dress, from Puure Bridal. With an intricate lace bodice which flowed into a floor length taffeta overlay, the dress was like a fairy tale. She floated down the isle and towards her groom effortlessly smiling all the way down the isle. Pink rose buttonholes finished off the groomsmen’s attire and the bride had matching roses in her bouquet from Northern Flower in Manchester. With shoes from Jeffery West for Mani and our bride in fabulous Aldo footwear, they looked ‘picture perfect’ at together.
I Do and So Do You!
With a nervous but excited grin from our couple the nuptials began and they both looked proud as punch! Natalie and Mani were bubbling with so much excitement after saying ‘I do’ and their smiles were infectious. Guests were beaming from the moment the couple’s eyes met and most notably when exchanging their vows. To be honoured with capturing such happiness is the biggest privilege I could possibly ask for.
You can see the enjoyment and excitement of all guests and our happy couple from the great shot on the Town Hall stairs. The huge, floor to ceiling, stained glass sectioned window provided amazing lighting on the staircase and I could capture some beautiful shots both in black-and-white as well as colour.
With Natalie in her elegant gown and Mani by her side, they led their wedding party down the stairs and outside with they were showered with confetti and cheered along the wedding channel the guests had formed.
Pause for a Moment
Whilst the guests enjoyed the drinks reception, Mani, Natalie and I had time to discover some fabulous areas of the the town hall. We found some great views with privacy as well as some deep-rooted Manchester heritage in the marble Bumble Bee on the floor at the top of Manchester Town Hall’s grand central staircase. There were also some truly epitomising moments captured of Manchestere on a bench outside Town Hall.
Most delightful of all was Mani literally jumping for joy on the lock front now having finally married the love of his life, Natalie (Sorry Mani ;-)). They never stopped beaming.
Hugs All Round
The guests enjoyed a fabulous reception and as a result I never saw a moment where no one was smiling. Our couple’s wedding was a true reflection of a celebration of being together. Their cake was made by Cakecraft of Ramsbottom and thoroughly enjoyed once cut.
With these two fantastic families being joined in marriage the speeches were great. The groom traditionally reduced his bride to tears of happiness and the evening was soon underway.
To kick start the evening a band called ‘Crash the Wedding’ rocked the night away and left not one guest left sitting down. The dancefloor filled with life and soul.
Having the opportunity to take Natalie and Mani’s wedding photography has been awesome. The only way to describe them is that they are legends and a pleasure to work with.
To me, wedding photography is about showing the day for its true moments. No pre-planned or posed shots, unless requested, just pure, natural pictures.
I hope you enjoy this collection of Great John Street Hotel wedding photography.
