Laura & Ben
Laura and Ben’s Cleethorpes wedding photography highlights one of those rare days in English summertime where the weather behaves itself. Seaside weddings should, after all, be sunny!
Cleethorpes Pier is such a wonderful place to get married. It’s a developing seaside resort with a mini fairground on the beach – and yes we did have a go! Also, on a sunny day like this people are walking around eating fish and chips. Therefore, you really get that old-fashioned British summer holiday feeling.
The Night Before
This wonderful day actually started for me the night before. Our Bride and Groom extended a lovely invitation for me to join them with their friends and family at a lovely little bar called The Tale of Two the night before their nuptials. It was lovely to meet them all before the big day – I felt like I knew everyone by the next morning.
The big day arrives
Our blushing Bride Laura wore a beautiful yet minimalist white A-Line wedding gown from New York Bride in Sheffield. She wore this with complimenting shoes from Pink Paradox London. She also wore a flowered tiara which her grandmother wore at her wedding in 1939 – such a beautiful touch. Her wedding bouquet was by Crosskills of Grimsby and accessories were from Glitsy Secrets. Her four bridesmaids all wore aqua and the flower girls looked very pretty in baby blue.
Our Groom Ben wore a navy suit from Next, white shirt accented with a pink tie. This contrasted with the groomsmen’s baby blue. They all wore gypsy buttonholes, Ben’s featured a pink rose centrepiece to contrast.
Laura’s bridal preparation took place in the Burlington Hotel in Cleethorpes. The wedding party walked to St. Andrews Church from the hotel.
Down the aisle
Laura was walked down the aisle by her proud father John. The couple exchanged a cuddle and a giggle when they saw each other. Following a beautiful ceremony at the church and the signing of the register, the entire wedding party walked back down to the Pier at Cleethorpes for the wedding breakfast.
The speeches were eventful to say the least! The father of the bride got a name wrong and the father of the groom edged on the risky side of hilarity. This of course made for some fantastic Cleethorpes wedding photography of the guests reactions!
Magic Hour
We were very lucky to have had some beautiful light for golden hour. Therefore, the bride and groom and I went out again for some more Cleethorpes Wedding Photography. The shots that we managed to capture were spectacular. Walking on the beach, on the carousel at the fairground and on the famous Ross Castle at Cleethorpes. I always keep these couples shots natural, with very little posing. I believe that the best wedding photographs capture real moments and emotions.
We finished off the day’s celebrations with the first dance inside the Pier at Cleethorpes, and the night was full of dancing and merrymaking long into the wee hours. You will see a few of these moments towards the end of the collection.
Overall this was a wedding to remember, and as you can see from the photos I didn’t want to leave! I hope you enjoy the following wedding photography, the highlights of Laura and Ben’s big day at Cleethorpes and the pier at Cleethorpes.
